TABLE NOTES 

As with Spanish Eyes, my previous conversion, this is an all-new remake of an existing VP port. Moreover, this is to my knowledge the first VP table conversion to offer two distinct sets of rules, sounds and styles of play. This wasn't actually planned from the beginning however, and came about because the correct rules came to light only after the earlier release of this table. Rather than lose the rules I had implemented, and which offer more intricacy, more challenge and a different style of play to the proper rules, I decided to keep them as an 'arranged mode' and let the player choose which to play. As far as I'm aware, the only definite thing missing from the 'original mode' is the electronic reproductions of actual Kiss tunes (you'll have to wait for VPinMAME for those, I'm afraid.) Purists shouldn't dismiss the arranged mode however, as there are new challenge on offer, and a greater emphasis on accurate aiming since all twelve lights and all the targets on the board must be scored to complete the bonus card. Specials are also a bit more difficult to get, but there are more opportunities available, and they offer extra bonus points too. The arranged mode also uses a modified version of the 'thumpier' Eight Ball Deluxe sound set.

Please ensure that the enclosed font is in your Windows font folder before starting the table for the first time, or the table will not register it. (This seems to be true of all VP tables).



TABLE CONTROLS

During play:	LEFT and RIGHT SHIFT- flipper buttons
		Z - nudge table left
		/ - nudge table right 
		SPACE- nudge table up

In standby:	5 - Insert credit	
		1 - Game start
		9 - Select game mode (original is default)
		0 - Select 3 or 5 ball play (5 is default)



BASIC SCORING

	K-I-S-S lanes and targets: 300 points.
	A-B-C-D targets: 300 points.
	Drop targets: 500 points.
	Return lanes and outlanes: 500 points.
	Top center lane: 5,000 points.
	Bumpers and spinners: 100 points or 1000 points when lit.
	Slingshots and rebounds: 10 points.



ORIGINAL RULES

Top K-I-S-S lanes and targets when lit spot corresponding K-I-S-S letter on bonus card and lights related bumper. Only one K-I-S-S line is active at a time and must be completed before next row starts. Left arrows point to current row. Completing a row also resets bumpers.

Drop target bank or top center lane when white light is lit completes current K-I-S-S line. Center lane also lights spinners and opens gate when yellow light is lit. Passing ball through right outlane closes gate and relights yellow light. White light is alternately lit or unlit by slingshots, rebounds, bumpers and spinners.

Completing A-B-C-D awards the following:

	First time: 2X bonus.
	Second time: Extra Ball.
	Third and additional times: Special.

Orange card arrows are lit by completing corresponding K-I-S-S rows and letter columns.

Card awards outhole bonus of 1,000 points per lit letter and 3,000 points per lit orange arrow. Completing all letters and orange lights on bonus card does the following:

	First time: lights 40,000 point outhole Super Bonus and resets card.
	Second time: lights 80,000 point outhole Colossal Bonus and resets card.
	Third time: lights K-I-S-S Special and outlane Special.

All bonuses are held over for subsequent balls. Lit K-I-S-S Special is scored by next completion of K-I-S-S from any combination of K-I-S-S lanes and targets, drop target bank, or center top lane when white light is lit. One outlane special and K-I-S-S special available per game.

Tilt penalty: ball in play.

Maximum: one extra ball per ball in play.



ARRANGED RULES

Top K-I-S-S lanes spot corresponding letter on bonus card when lit. All letters are active on bonus card. Completing K-I-S-S lanes spots red card arrow and lights spinners.

K-I-S-S targets spot corresponding letter on bonus card when lit. Completing K-I-S-S targets spots white card arrow and lights all four jet bumpers.

Drop target bank fills an entire K-I-S-S line, spots yellow card arrow, and lights yellow center lane light. Inside lanes light white center lane light.

Top center lane, when lit, opens bottom gate (yellow light) and/or fills a K-I-S-S line (white light). Bottom gate closes after ball goes through right outlane.

Completing A-B-C-D spots green card arrow and awards the following:

	First time: 2X bonus.
	Second time: Extra Ball and 25,000 points.
	Third and additional times: Special.

Orange card arrows are lit by completing corresponding K-I-S-S rows and letter columns.

Card awards outhole bonus of 1,000 points per lit letter and 2,000 points per lit arrow. Completing entire bonus card, with all letters and all twelve arrows, does the following:

	First time: lights 40,000 point outhole Super Bonus, resets card, and resets all targets.
	Second time: lights 80,000 point outhole Colossal Bonus, resets card, and resets all targets.
	Third time: lights K-I-S-S Special and outlane Special, and resets all targets.

Super Bonus and Colossal Bonus only are held over for subsequent balls. Lit K-I-S-S Special is scored by next completion of K-I-S-S lanes, of K-I-S-S targets, of drop target bank, or of center top lane when white light is lit.

Tilt penalty: ball in play.

Maximum: one extra ball per ball in play.



ORIGINAL MODE REPLAY AWARDS

1 replay awarded for a score of 250,000 points (3-ball play) or 470,000 points (5-ball play).

Turning the game over and looping the score from 999,990 back to zero awards one replay. Replay score does not reset.

Special awards one replay. One K-I-S-S special and outlane Special available per game.

Matching the last two score digits against the displayed number at the end of the game awards one replay.



ARRANGED MODE REPLAY AWARDS

1 replay awarded for a score of 280,000 points (3-ball play) or 540,000 points (5-ball play).

Turning the game over and looping the score from 999,990 back to zero awards one replay, and resets replay score for a possible further award.

Special awards one replay and 50,000 points. One K-I-S-S special and outlane Special available for each completion of third bonus card.

Matching the last two score digits against the displayed number at the end of the game awards one replay.
